Personal Statement:
I first became interested in adoption law when my husband and I adopted two children 25 years ago. Once I became an attorney, I focused on family issues, especially adoption. I helped start the Independent Adoption Resource Center and Wellspring Adoption Agency in 1989. They now have the largest American infant program in Minnesota.
As a result of my work in adoption, I began receiving calls from families who were interested in pursuing surrogacy as a way to build their families. This year I have actively helped to establish the Minnesota Surrogacy Center.
I am very active in speaking on adoption and surrogacy issues, especially for RESOLVE. I have written articles and put together courses for other attorneys in the areas of adoption and surrogacy. In addition, I represent one of the largest infertility clinics in Minnesota. I also do lobbying in the Minnesota legislature on adoption and surrogacy issues.
I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping a family add that special infant to their family whether through adoption or surrogacy!
