Implantation:
The embedding of the fertilized egg in the endometrium(mucous membrane lining ) of the uterus.
In Vitro:
An assisted reproductive procedure in which an Fertilization (IVF) egg is removed from a ripe follicle and fertilized by a sperm cell outside of the human body. The fertilized egg divides in a protected environment for about two days and then is inserted into the uterus of the woman who produced the egg or into a Gestational Carrier.
Intracervical Insemination (ICI):
The injection of a semen sample into the cervical canal.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI):
The process in which the sperm are washed and then inserted directly into the uterine cavity by a catheter.
